FANWOOD, NJ -- Trish Nering, a resident of Russell Road in Fanwood, was honored for her 25 years of volunteer work in collecting food, clothing and other necessities for people in need in our community.

Her group, Heart for Humanity, is especially busy around holidays, collecting goods for those in need. In 2015, Nering was named one of Union County's "Women of Excellence" for collecting money, clothing, food and personal-care items and redistributed them to at-risk single women with children, families who have lost everything in fires and floods, and seniors in the area.

Trish received the traditional print of the history Fanwood train station from Councilwoman Trisha Walsh, a Russell Road neighbor.
