WESTFIELD, NJ — The 8-week-old puppies being helped by Brassy Buddha Yoga Studio are unfortuantely unable to make their planned appearance this Saturday, said studio manager Jody Heavey. But there will still be plenty of cuddly canines to practice yoga with, as some adorable, adoptable adult dogs will take their place.
Money raised from the class, which is $25 per person, will go to Wise Animal Rescue to help pay the cost of vet bills for the litter of pit bull-poodle puppies.
“Dogs bring such a joy and light to us as humans,” said Heavey. “They can feel when we're not having the best day and their unconditional love is there to offer support. It’s actually quite therapeutic to just be in the presence of a dog. Now incorporating yoga into the mix is the ultimate de-stresser. As you’re on your mat in these gentle postures already benefiting the mental and physical bodies, now you have these balls of love walking around sharing their gift to make the time even more full of light.”
