SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Joan Dancy and PALS (people with ALS) Foundation hosted its fourth annual fundraiser celebrating the life of Lina Suriano: "A Night of Music and Comedy with Billy Wilkins and Mike Marino" at the Italian American Club in Scotch Plains on Saturday, Nov. 16.
The Joan Dancy and PALS Foundation is a New Jersey-based nonprofit, all volunteer organization that serves ALS patients and their families. Its mission is to help and provide assistance, services and programs that support ALS patients to live and enjoy as full and as normal a life as possible. The Foundation develops programs and services to aid patients with loans of equipment, communication and speech generating devices, and assist with in-home care and social services.
The Joan Dancy and PALS (people with ALS) Foundation, and each of its volunteers, was a tremendous support system for our Lina Suriano and her family.
"It was our mother’s wish that we continue to support them. We are proud to say that all proceeds from our events go directly to them," wrote daughters Gina, Barbara and Linda in the program. "We are even more proud and humbled that through your generosity over the past four years at our events – in ticket sales, donations, tricky tray raffles, auctions, 50/50 sales, and corporate matching – we have been able to donate approximately $50,000 to this incredible organization!"
