SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- In the latest measure to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), Scotch Plains Township has closed off access to children's playgrounds in local parks.

"The parks themselves will be open for people who want to walk and get some exercise and fresh air," said Mayor Al Smith in a phone interview with TAPintoSPF. "We are closing off the playgrounds in the parks, however, in an attempt to contain the spread of COVID-19."

The Township has scheduled a Town Hall meeting at 4:00 p.m. that will be broadcast on Scotch Plains TV cable access channels: Comcast Ch. 34 and Verizon and FiOS Ch. 22. Look for it to be livestreamed on the Township Facebook page, as well.
