SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Scotch Plains Township Officials participate in Open World Leadership program. 

As part of a Congressionally-approved US exchange program for countries of the post-Soviet era, Scotch Plains Township officials met with a delegation of emerging Russian professionals focusing on redevelopment and urban planning. 

Members of the delegation -- mostly architects or planners -- exchanged ideas regarding smart growth and transit-oriented development. A tour of Town Hall was also given.

Mayor Al Smith, Township Manager Al Mirabella, Deputy Manager Margaret Heisey, Project Coordinator for Redevelopment Tom Strowe, and Police Chief Ted Conley were among the hosts for the Russian delegation.
