SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Township of Scotch Plains is asking the public to refrain from visiting the Municipal Building and meeting with staff members directly.
"You will be able to come in and drop off payments, for instance, but the building is closed for normal face-to-face interaction with building employees due to concern about the spread of the Coronavirus," said Mayor Al Smith.
If residents need to contact any of the Township Departments, they can do so by phone or email. A list of departments with their contact information follows:
- Environmental Comm
- Library Board
- Planning Board
- Public Safety
- Public Property
- Senior Services
- Taxes & Finance
- Zoning Board of Adjustment
The Township will be setting up a special phone number and COVID-specific email address for specific questions related to the virus. Details will be provided at a Town Hall Meeting scheduled for today at 4:00 p.m. broadcast via SPTV on the Comcast and Verizon cable access stations: Comcast Ch. 34 and Verizon and FiOS Ch. 22. Look for it to be livestreamed on the Township Facebook page, as well.
