SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- The Township of Scotch Plains is under an Excessive Heat Warning from noon on Friday, July 19, through Sunday, July 21, at 10:00 p.m.  

Residents under the age of four and over age 65 are most at-risk during extreme heat. The Scotch Plains police advise staying out of the sun, keeping hydrated, avoiding strenuous activity, and staying informed of weather emergency updates.

  • The Chelsea at Fanwood, 295 South Ave, July 19th through July 21st, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. each day.
  • The Scotch Plains Public Library, 1927 Bartle Ave. Friday, July 19th and Saturday, July 20th, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Scotch Plains Police also remind drivers not to leave small children and animals inside locked cars during extreme heat.
