FANWOOD, NJ -- Close to 60 women attended Mayor Colleen Mahr's inaugural Women's Wellness Series event held at the Dhammakaya Meditation Center on Midway Ave. in Fanwood.

"What an AWESOME way to kick off my mayors wellness program this morning with up to do yoga meditate and learn about good heart health," said Mayor Colleen Mahr, who is planning another event soon. "The turnout today was bigger than expected, and it shows me that there is a need for women's wellness initiatives in the community. I expect that next time we will have a larger crowd."

"It's important that we, as women, take time to relax, unwind, and rejuvenate. That's why this initiative is so important," Mayor Mahr told TAPintoSPF. "Women are the caretakers of their families, but they often do not stop to take care of themselves."
