SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Scotch Plains Township and its health department along with our County, State and Federal Health Agencies are closely monitoring the Coronavirus outbreak and its potential impact in the U.S. and our area in particular.
While the immediate risk of this new virus to the American public is believed to be low at this time, everyone can do their part to help us respond to this emerging public health threat as new cases continue to appear in New Jersey.
In preparation and in response, Scotch Plains has launched a Coronavirus webpage dedicated to providing the public with the latest information and helpful resources in an effort to combat this emerging public health threat. The Township is reminding all residents to please follow basic precautions outlined below.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask.
