FANWOOD, NJ -- The Fanwood Fire Department, along with other Union County departments, attended a ceremony this week at Public Safety Headquarters in Westfield to accept delivery of new advanced digital radios.

These radios allow firefighters access to the NJ Interoperability Communications System, which has enhanced radio coverage throughout Union County and the UASI (Urban Area Security Initiative) region.

Fanwood Chief John Piccola, along with other chiefs from other towns in Union County, accepted delivery of the radios from Freeholder Chair (and Fanwood resident) Al Mirabella.
