CLARK, NJ - Traffic was tied up around Raritan Road and Central Avenue in Clark Saturday morning after a 71-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle, according to Police Chief Pedro Matos.
The Metuchen resident was crossing Raritan Road at ShopRite Way when she was hit by a car turning right while exiting the shopping plaza.
Matos said the woman was flown to University Hospital in Newark with serious head injuries. She later died, according to multiple reports. The driver stopped and was being cooperative according to authorities.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call the Clark Police department at 732 388 3434 and ask to speak to Sgt. Lott.
