SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- PSE&G is still working to restore power in Scotch Plains, Fanwood, and throughout the state following the damage caused by Isaias. According to the PSE&G Storm Outage website, there are still 21,891 residents of Union County (10.61% of its customers in the county) who are still without power.
"Our crews are assessing, clearing and repairing the damage Isaias caused. They are up to the task and are committed to restoring power for our customers. Please be safe if you are running a generator or cleaning up debris. Thank you for your patience," the utility posted on its Twitter page.
PSE&G said it had 2,800 workers, including mutual aid, dedicated to restoration of electricity to the region.
Meanwhile, the Fanwood police department has announced that a cooling station with phone-charging opportunity is available able at the Carriage House on Watson Road (behind Borough Hall) near Martine Ave. If the doors are locked upon your arrival, simply walk over to the police station and ask to have someone open it.
