SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Scotch Plains Police Sergeant Jerry Brown, the traffic supervisor for the Township and Deputy Municipal Manager Margaret Heisey introduced the first pedestrian crossing sign on Thursday morning to promote safety while walking in the downtown district. 

"This is Scotch Plains hitting the next level in pedestrian safety," said Sgt. Brown. 

There will be more of these pedestrian crossing signs added as the budget allows.
