SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains was closed in both directions for about an hour shortly after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday following a multi-car accident. 

Two Scotch Plains police vehicles and two fire vehicles were on site at the crash scene near the Highland Pool parking lot.

Despite three cars being severely damaged, the drivers and passengers were all able to walk away from the scene without having to receive medical treatment, according to Scotch Plains deputy fire chief Skip Paal. Further details about the accident are not available at this time.
