SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Township has been rated among the 100 Best Places to Live in New Jersey for 2019, according to New Jersey Monthly magazine's annual rankings. Scotch Plains ranked No. 82 in the list, which was good for 7th place in Union County.

"With so many great towns in New Jersey, it is an honor for Scotch Plains to be ranked among the 100 Best Places to Live in the state," said Mayor Al Smith in an interview with TAPintoSPF. "As we implement our downtown redevelopment plans, I expect more and more people will target Scotch Plains as the place they want to live. We offer a great community experience, great school system, 'Healthy Town to Watch' designation, and many town-sponsored events like the Fourth of July fireworks and Live Band Karaoke."

Fanwood was rated No. 160 in the state and 9th best in Union County. Among Union County towns, Summit ranked No. 1 and was listed as No. 2 statewide, behind Madison, which topped the overall NJ list.
