SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ -- As part of its year-long 70th anniversary celebration, St. Bartholomew Academy in Scotch Plains hosted a "70 Years of Dance" celebration in which students dressed up and danced to music from the 1950s all the way until today's hits.

St. Bartholomew Academy (SBA) is a Catholic elementary school with grades pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. The school was founded in 1950 in response to a need to provide a Catholic education for the children of the newly established parish of St. Bartholomew the Apostle. In 2000, SBA was accredited by the Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools and is listed in their Directory of Accredited Schools. (In 2010 and 2017, the Academy earned re-accreditation.) Today the school has over 200 students and is a thriving educational institution dedicated to academic excellence in a value-forming environment.

SBA is under the direction of the Religious Teachers Filippini, a religious order dedicated to the ministry of education of youth and developing our children to become the leaders of tomorrow.
