CRANFORD, NJ -- Jon DiDario scored off a great feed from Brian Touma early in overtime to give the Union Catholic boys soccer team a dramatic 1-0 victory over Cranford on Thursday in Cranford.

Two minutes into the overtime period, Touma, a sophomore, took the ball in the midfield on a counter attack from the defensive end and sent a perfect pass to a streaking DiDario. DiDario, a senior, received the ball near the 18-yard box and made one cut to his right foot and blasted the game-winner into the right side of the net. The assist by Touma was the first varsity point of his young UC career.

Justin Couto made five saves in goal to secure the shutout for the Vikings, who improved to 5-6-1 on the season.
