SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- After Governor Livingston won two of the first three races against Scotch Plains-Fanwood in the season's opening meet, Coach Jess Hulnik realized she might have to change her game plan in order for the boys varsity swim team to come back and win.
Aidan Trenery helped lead the comeback with a win in the 200 IM. Matt London took the 50 Free and the 100 Free and anchored the winning 200 Free Relay. Sophomore Corey He won the 500 Free and after a short rest led off the winning 200 Free Relay.
"We made some lineup changes and did some different things. Corey, Aidan, Matt, and Jason had strong meets today," said Coach Hulnik after the victory. "We have some really good freshmen. Nine of the 22 swimmers on the team are freshmen this year."
Those freshman have some big flippers to fill as the senior leaders from last year's State finalist team, Josh Cohen and Alan Shao, graduated. Replacing two of the top swimmers in the state will be a challenge for the Raiders, who made the State finals last season.
