SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL football teams claimed three victories during play in the New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League this past Sunday.

Against New Providence in New Providence, the SPF B team Raiders (seventh grade) scored a 25-12 victory, while the SPF C team Raiders (sixth grade) pitched a 20-0 shutout. Meanwhile, the SPF E team (fourth grade) delivered a 28-0 victory over the host Roselle Park.

Also in New Providence, the A team Raiders (eighth grade) fell to the host team, 32-0, and the D team Raiders (fifth grade) was defeated, 14-0. The third grade Raiders were defeated by host Old Bridge/Sayrewoods, 27-6.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a volunteer organization. PAL aims to develop a friendly relationship between the youth and police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The organization is committed to emphasizing skill development, personal growth, and fun. Its goal is to provide a fun sports experience for pre-high school boys and girls from Scotch Plains and Fanwood. The organization's volunteer coaches and administrators are police officers and other dedicated volunteers.
