SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Two of the three Scotch Plains-Fanwood PAL football teams heading to the playoffs geared up with victories this past Sunday, Oct. 27, at a rainy Tyson Field at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School.

The C team Raiders (sixth grade) rolled past Kenilworth, 35-0, while the D team Raiders (fifth grade) also pitched a shutout, 7-0, over Kenilworth. The third SPF PAL team going to the playoffs, the B team Raiders (seventh grade), had a bye over the weekend.
The A team Raiders closed out the 2019 season with a tough 7-0 defeat to Kenilworth. In Flemington, the SPF PAL third graders were defeated by the host team, 26-6. The E team Raiders (fourth grade) had its game with Kenilworth called off due to the weather.

The New Jersey Suburban Youth Football League playoffs start on Nov. 10.

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a volunteer organization. It aims to develop a friendly relationship between youngster and police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The PAL emphasizes skill development, personal growth, and fun for pre-high school boys and girls from both Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
