SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- Some controversial penalties and a Raiders turnover helped Hunterdon jump out to a 14-0 first quarter lead, but the Raiders, under new head coach Austin Holman, don't give up that easy.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood (2-3), had a lot of positives to build upon despite a loss that sunk them below the .500 mark.

Shawn Martin nearly willed the Raiders to victory. The speedy junior running back had 159 rushing yards with three scores, including a 63-yard touchdown, as well as a 90-yard kickoff return for a score. His 7-yard run completed the Raiders' scoring.
