Lady Raiders go up early in the first quarter to beat Linden Tigers on Tuesday afternoon
SCOTCH PLAINS-FANWOOD, NJ -- Scotch Plains-Fanwood got ahead early and never looked back as the girls varsity basketball team dominated Linden, 49-17, at Scotch Plains-Fanwood on Tuesday.
The underclassmen came to play as starters sophomore Corinne Lyght and freshman Leah Klurman had exceptional performances throughout the game. Lyght had a great block in the short corner during the first quarter along with many forced turnovers. Lyght ended the game with ten points, six rebounds, and four steals.
Sophomore Maddie StaRosa who was subbed in during the first quarter had nine points, a three in the first three quarters and a huge block during the third quarter.
Klurman ended the game with seven points a three and two jumpers.
Senior Stefanie DeVizio put up six points and had numerous steals and strong defense.
With this win the Raiders improve to 3-6 and there next game is away against Summit on Thursday, Jan 10.
