ROSELLE, NJ  --  The Union Catholic girls basketball team jumped out to a big early lead and made an astounding 15 three-pointers en route to a 61-26 over Roselle Catholic on Monday night. 

The Vikings, now 2-0 on the season, started the game red hot as they built a 20-3 lead after the first quarter and led 34-10 at halftime.

Union Catholic was led by junior Madison Johnson, who scored 18 points. Gianna Peralta, who made three three-pointers, finished the game with 16 points. Sabrina Araujo buried five three-pointers for all 15 of her points, and Abbey Ortiz made three three-pointers and finished the game with 11 points.

This was the second straight game that UC has made double digit three-pointers. In its season-opening victory over Sinai Christian on Friday, the Vikings made 10 threes.
