SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains-Fanwood girls varsity soccer team recorded its third straight shut-out win by defeating Summit, 1-0, at Wexler field on Tuesday.

For much of the game, Summit was equally impressive defensively as the teams were locked in a scoreless tie until Corinne Lyght found herself one-on-one with the keeper with 5 minutes to go in regulation on a feed from Giorgi Vacca. Lyght beat the keeper to give the Raiders the lead.

That’s all the the scoring Scotch Plains-Fanwood needed due to another strong effort by the defense.  Maya Kessler recorded 6 saves to preserve the Raiders third shutout win.
