EWING, NJ – Julia Bonhote and Lily Hughes of Scotch Plains-Fanwood each placed in the Top 10 of their respective races at the Finals of the NJSIAA Meet of Champions on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT).

Competing in the 50 Freestyle, an event she has dominated all season, Julia Bonhote finished 5th with a time of 23.98. Melissa Lowry, a senior from Cumberland High School, finished first with a time of 23.42, followed by Allison Fenska, a junior from Moorestown Friends School (23.75), Danielle D'Ambrosio, a junior from Hillsborough (23.62), Victoria Zhang of West Windsor-Plainsboro North (23.86), and then Bonhote.

In the 100 Backstroke, Lily Hughes, a sophomore, finished 6th with a time of 56.84 and broke her own school record in the process. Winner Katie McClintock, a senior at Mainland Regional won completed the race in 54.32, followed by Annie Behm, a junior from Cherry Hill East (54.36), Brianna Williams, a senior from Hackensack (55.55), Olivia Chow of Mount Saint Mary Academy (55.86), Ela Habjan, a freshman from Montclair (56.34), and then Hughes.

Bridget Davis of Union Catholic, a Fanwood resident, finished 13th in the finals of the 500 Freestyle with a new UC school record of 5:07.56, beating the time she set (5:09.28) that she swam in Saturday's preliminary round.
