NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ --  The Union Catholic volleyball team, ranked No. 2 in the state, defeated New Providence in two sets on Tuesday.

The Vikings raised their record to 14-1 with the 25-19, 25-14 victory over New Providence, which is now 8-7 on the season.

Several Vikings turned in strong performances.

Olivia Szyszkiewicz had 10 kills, seven digs, and eight service points. Aliyah Thomas recorded 10 service points and two blocks. Adrienne Caceda had nine service points, six digs, and six assists. Alexandra Kwasnik had six kills, five service points, and four blocks. Abbey Ortiz finished with seven service points, seven assists, and five digs, and Grace Kane recorded nine service points, five digs, and three kills.
