SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- The Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL football teams posted four big victories this past weekend.

  • The B team Raiders (7th grade) threw a shutout against host Berkeley Heights, 16-0.
  • The C team Raiders (6th grade) knocked off host Parsippany, 20-7.
  • The Raiders D team (5th grade) scored a 27-0 triumph over Somerset Hills at Bernards High School.
  • The E team Raiders (4th grade) trimmed home-team Parsiappany, 8-6.

The Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL A team (8th grade) fell to host Parsippany, 39-13, while the third grade Raiders were defeated by Somerville/Branchburg, 28-0, at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School.

B TEAM (7th grade)

C TEAM (6th grade)

The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Police Athletic League (PAL) was founded in 1991 as a volunteer organization. It aims to develop a friendly relationship between youngster and police officers and a spirit of respect for the law. The PAL emphasizes skill development, personal growth, and fun for for pre-high school boys and girls from both Scotch Plains and Fanwood. It runs youth football, flag football, girls softball, volleyball and cheerleading programs, and its volunteer coaches and administrators are police officers and other dedicated individuals who care about kids.
