SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ -- A wonderful voice honoring the National Anthem was among the highlights when the Scotch Plains Fanwood PAL football teams played on Sunday, Oct. 6. The splendid voice belonged to Shiloh Verrico, who sang the National Anthem before  the start of the E division (fourth grade) game between the Raiders and visiting Old Bridge/Sayrewoods.

At Scotch Plains Fanwood High School's Tyson Field, the SPF PAL Raiders won two games, played to a tie and was defeated twice.

For the day, the Raiders B team (seventh grade) defeated Springfield,13-6, the Raiders D team (fifth grade) blanked Springfield, 14-0, and in a showdown between two undefeated teams, the Raiders and Chatham settled the battle with a 6-6 tie in the C division (sixth grade).

The A team Raiders (eighth grade) dropped a 32-20 decision to Springfield and the E teams Raiders (fourth grade) lost to Old Bridge/Sayreville, 42-6.

Meanwhile in Flemington, the third grade Raiders fell to Flemington, 27-13.
