SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Scotch Plains-Fanwood HS alum David Walker is among the Scarlet Knights who continue to excel in the classroom as the Big Ten Conference recognized 26 Rutgers men's lacrosse student-athletes who were named to the 2020 Spring Academic All-Big Ten list.
This is the second time that Walker, a junior majoring in Supply Chain and Marketing Science, has made the Spring Academic All-Big Ten list.
The 26 Academic All-Big Ten selections is a program record since joining the conference, improving on last year's mark of 24. In the six years as a Big Ten member, Rutgers has earned 115 Academic All-Big Ten selections, setting records each of the last four years. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
"Despite the obstacles presented during the spring semester, our student-athletes rose to the challenge to excel and set records in the classroom," said Director of Athletics Pat Hobbs. "We are extremely proud of their diligent work and their commitment to academic excellence."
