HOLMDEL, NJ -- Brandon Bowles took 1st at 113 lbs.. as Scotch Plains-Fanwood wrestlers finished 5th overall as a team out of 12 teams at the annual holiday tournament at Homdel High School on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Noah Samms, who finished 2nd at 145 lbs. had an amazing run in the tournament. He started as the 10th seed in the tournament and beat the 7th seed in the first round, 2nd seed in the quarterfinals, and 3rd seed in the semifinals to make it to the finals where he lost a close match.

"We wrestled amazing at the tournament," said Raiders wrestling coach Marc Fabiano. "Our guys really stepped up and left everything on the mats for each match. Brandon Bowles brought home his first Holmdel Holiday Tournament Gold medal and first tournament win of the season."
