FANWOOD, NJ -- Fanwood has advanced past Chester in Round 2 of New Jersey Monthly's "Small Town Showdown" voting to make it to the Final Four of the contest.

The Borough is now pitted against Park Ridge on its side of the bracket. Lambertville takes on Point Pleasant Beach in the other bracket. Ballots for Fanwood more than doubled those for Chester, while Park Ridge and Caldwell were neck-and-neck until Park Ridge advanced by a mere 79 votes, according to New Jersey Monthly's report.

"To have Fanwood go head-to-head with other small towns and to keep advancing is exciting and a reflection of what a great community this is," said Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr. "It's a testament to our smart development, diverse recreational programs, and an engaged community that loves raising their families here."
