ROSELLE PARK, NJ - A Medevac helicopter was called in to assist after a construction accident occurred at the Merida Apartment Building construction site on Saturday morning.  

Roselle Park Police and rescue units along with Cranford first aide, Trinitas, and Union County EMS responders were called to the 200 block of E. Westfield Ave., the new Merida apartment complex. Upon arrival, they had found that a construction worker fallen estimated 70-80 feet onto the 2nd-floor concrete pad above the Parking garages, according to Police Chief Paul Morrison.

Chief Morrison also added that the worker was alert/conscious, and firefighters and medics worked to extricate him from the second floor after which he was transported to the Colfax Ave. side of the high school where a Northstar Medevac Helicopter was waiting to fly the man to University Hospital in Newark.
