MAPLEWOOD, NJ - About 500 customers in Maplewood were without power as of 8 p.m. on Monday, according to the PSE&G outage map.
About 1,000 customers were without power throughout Essex County on Monday, as well as close to 6,000 in Union, according to the outage map at about 8 p.m.
All power had been restored in Maplewood by Tuesday morning, according to the outage map.
A PSE&G spokesperson stated that Monday's power losses were due to "normal outages," which includes tree limbs and transformer issues, and was not the result of a "brownout."
Tuesday evening about 100 additional outages were reported in Maplewood, with a "latest estimated time of restoration" of 5 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the PSE&G website.
