MAPLEWOOD, NJ - A suspect in the robbery of a Maplewood bank early Wednesday afternoon has been caught in Jersey City and taken into custody, according to a report by Breaking News Network.
At approximately 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, police report that a white male attempted to rob the Wells Fargo bank located at the corner of Baker Street and Maplewood Avenue in downtown Maplewood. The man attempting the robbery was described as having long hair and wearing a yellow T-shirt, gray sweater and blue jeans.
According to authorities, the Wells Fargo location in Summit (1 Maple Street) was the site of another robbery attempt at about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday. It is not known if the two incidents are related or connected. The suspect in the Summit robbery was also described as wearing a yellow shirt and gray sweater.
