Blizzard Aftermath in South Orange and Maplewood: Cancellations, Delays and Other Updates

Parking lot at Gaslight Commons in South Orange.

SOUTH ORANGE AND MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The historic blizzard that dropped over two feet of snow in some parts of the area has ended (unofficial totals nearby are 28.1 inches at Newark Airport, and 23.5 inches in Millburn), but the two towns still need to dig out from under all that snow. Roads continue to be cleared by Department of Public Works plows, and residents are reminded they should not plow or blow snow back into the street. Also, residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from sidewalks by their residences, as well as for clearing the area around nearby fire hydrants.

Parking restrictions are still in place that prohibit all on street parking.
