MAPLEWOOD, NJ — The Columbia boys basketball team closed out its season with a five-game winning streak, defeating West Orange, 67-63, in the final game on Saturday.

Senior guard Nigel Garcia scored 26 points, grabbed five rebounds and passed for three assists for the Cougars (11-4), who opened a 39-21 halftime lead with a 22-9 showing in the second quarter.

Josiah Lawful finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots; and Elijah Gayle also scored 10 points for Columbia. Ben Fisher led the Cougars in assists with four.

Jermaine James led West Orange (4-11) with 24 points and Micah Moore finished with eight points in the loss.
