The 9th Annual South Mountain International Blues Festival (SMIBF) was postponed for the first time in its history due to weather on Sunday, September 9, 2018. Although a rain date was not scheduled, the County of Essex and the NJBA immediately explored the option of another opportunity on Saturday, September 15. Rescheduling a festival of this magnitude is a huge endeavor, and typically not done.

Although daunting, a sincere attempt was made by all parties to pull together "the impossible " in only 5 days...and an announcement was made.

After extensive discussions with the county, personnel meetings exposed some scheduling and resource conflicts which would likely make this first-class festival impossible to deliver in time for Saturday.

To preserve the integrity and legacy of this annual experience, it was decided to cancel the festival -- and  begin preparation for our 10th anniversary next September.

We apologize to our fans and supporters... and look forward to seeing you all at SMIBF 2019!

Musically Yours,
Mike Griot Founder South Mountain International Blues Festival
