UNION, NJ – More than 50 people braved the frigid weather Saturday evening to attend a candlelight vigil at the site where a motorcyclist was killed one week ago on Chestnut Street at the intersection of Fairway Drive.
Paulo A. Borges of Union was killed when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a Lincoln MKZ operated by another Union resident.
“We were always close,” said Borges’ brother Dave. “He was a great guy. A hard working guy.”
“He was the hardest working guy I knew,” said brother-in-law Michael Cocca. “He worked three jobs to help his family. Everyone who knew Paulo knew how big a heart he had.”
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support the family. Borges was married to Maria and had two daughters, ages 10 and 16 months. https://www.gofundme.com/in-memory-of-paulo-borges.
