Congregation Beth El has announced that Danielle Hartwig will join the congregation in July as the next director of the Thelma K. Reisman Preschool. Danielle joins Beth El from Congregation Agudath Israel in Caldwell, NJ, where she most recently served as the Curriculum and Program Coordinator in their Early Childhood Center, including management of their extended day program. Danielle brings to Beth El more than a decade of experience and a wealth of classroom, curriculum design, and administrative expertise, having taught at preschools and religious schools in California, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Israel.

Danielle graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Human Development and received her master's degree from California State University/Northridge with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. In 2013, she was selected to the prestigious Jewish Early Childhood Education Leadership Institute, a collaborative study program that provides intensive professional development to Jewish leaders across the country.

The mission of the Thelma K. Reisman Preschool at Congregation Beth El is to provide a warm and nurturing Jewish environment for young children, with preschool education and enrichment for children ages 12 months to 5 years old. The Preschool offers a highly flexible schedule, including a new Extended Day option, offering care from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. Under Danielle’s leadership, the preschool will continue to enhance its play-based curriculum emphasizing discovery and exploration, based on her expertise in the importance of play on child development, documenting learning, literacy development, and emergent child-centered curriculum.
