Cookbooks, Plants, Art and More Available from Jespy House at the South Orange Farmers Market in August

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - During August, representatives from Jespy House will be at the South Orange Farmers Market with a variety of items for sale from handmade flower crowns to cookbooks.

Jespy House is a nonprofit organization based in South Orange that enables adults with learning and developmental disabilities to lead independent lives. Jespy House clients who are a member of the nutrition group recently published The Heathy Bytes Cookbook, a collection of the group's favorite recipes. The cookbook is available at the South Orange Farmers Market and at Kitchen a la Mode (19 South Orange Avenue). All of the proceeds from the cookbook are being donated to Jespy House.

In addition to the cookbook, products available at the Farmers Market include plants, floral creations, and artwork, all made by Jespy clients.

"Being at the farmers market is a new way for Jespy House to become more visible in the community of South Orange and increase awareness of our presence in the community," shared Tara Roberts, who heads Marketing and Community Relations at Jespy House.

The South Orange Farmers Market is every Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Sloan Street parking lot, across the street from the train station.

Farmers Market vendors include Alstede Farms, Stony Hill Farms, Tree-Licious, and Hoboken Farms.

Bee Hive Rescued in Short Hills

SHORT HILLS, NJ - A beehive 50 feet above Oakview Terrace was saved last Wednesday through a coordinated effort of the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum staff, Millburn Township Shade Tree workers, and beekeeper Joe Lelinho of Hilltop Honey.
