MAPLEWOOD, NJ - The annual Rahway River Cleanup, organized by Maplewood is Green, will be held in Maplewood Memorial Park on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to the river cleanup, this year there will also be a neighborhood picnic, and organizers invite everyone to "stop by for some nourishment and community."

Check-in tables will be at the bridge near the Civic House (124 Dunnell Road), and in the high school parking lot at Parker Road. The event is free and open to all, and children are welcome to participate.

Participants are advised to wear footwear suitable for walking in the river, closed-toe, waterproof shoes or boots are best. Organizers will provide gloves and bags.

In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, April 23.
