SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – For Jaime Behringer, a veteran teacher and Master’s Degree recipient, teaching is not a job, it’s a passion. Behringer is the Center Director of Eye Level of South Orange, which offers individualized learning in Math and English for every student.
Eye Level Math and English programs are based on the philosophy that successful learning takes place at child’s eye level. The South Orange facility, located at 15 Village Plaza in South Orange, focuses on each child’s individual needs and caters to students ages 3-14 requiring not just remedial help but to those who seek advanced education, or just to remain confident with what they are learning in school.
“We believe to have a mastery of a subject, there needs to be a strong foundation,” said Behringer. For Math, that means mastering number facts, arithmetic, word problems, through to trigonometry. Eye Level also incorporates critical thinking skills such as patterns, problem solving, and geometry. For English, it includes, developing the proper pencil grip and stroke, phonics, grammar, reading comprehension, and writing.
Eye Level offers small ratios of 1 to 4 students and the sessions are one hour in length. Eye Level also believes in conferencing with parents so that parents can be apprised of their child’s performance and improvement.
Eye Level of South Orange opened in July. “We are very excited to be in downtown South Orange. We are looking to get more involved in the community and provide educational services to its residents,” said Behringer.
Eye Level of South Orange is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9-1. For more information, call 973-762-8880 or visit www.eyelevelsouthorange.com.
