EAST ORANGE, NJ - There was a fatal accident at the East Orange train station on Tuesday, March 21. According to firefighters and other emergency personnel on the scene, witnesses who they spoke to reported that a young man was spotted siting on the tracks and was struck by an eastbound train. Any additional information, including the name of the victim, has not yet been released. 

Morris & Essex line trains were subject to up to 30 minutes delays in both directions, but as of about 6:30 p.m. regular schedules had resumed, according to the NJ Transit website.

East Orange is a New Jersey Transit station on the Morris and Essex line. The station was has trains from the Morristown Line and the Gladstone Branch, including service to Hoboken Terminal and Midtown Direct service to New York Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan.
