SOUTH ORANGE, NJ -  A Seton Hall University student reported that at about 11:25 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 24, two people robbed her of her purse while she was walking with a friend on South Orange Avenue, near police headquarters, according to the South Orange Police Blotter.

The victim said that her friend chased the alleged robbers into Grove Park, where according to police, "they jumped into a blue vehicle on Park Place."

The victim and her friend immediately contacted police and provided a detailed description of the people and vehicle, including the license plate, said police.

Officers quickly located and stopped the vehicle at Turrell Avenue near South Orange Avenue, stated police, and after further investigation during the stop, officers determined that the alleged robbers, along with the contents from the victim's purse, were inside the vehicle.

Officers arrested all five of the vehicle's occupants -- 4 adults and 1 juvenile -- without further incident and transported them to headquarters for processing.  

Those arrested were: Michael Murray, age 21, of East Providence, RI; Sharon Yancey, age 18, of Dover, NJ; William Dixon, age 20 of Orange; and Zaquan Henderson, age 18, of Orange. The juvenile was identified as a 16-year-old from Newark.

The student, who is from Midland Park, said she did not know the robbers, according to police.

The South Orange Rescue Squad responded and treated the victim for minor injuries, stated police.
