SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange Department of Recreation & Cultural Affairs are offering a day of family fun in and around Meadowland Park and the South Orange Community Pool on Saturday, July 4th.
 
All South Orange residents can join the festivities at the pool from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Proof of residency must be shown by I.D. badge, drivers' license or utility bill at the gate, and all children must be accompanied by and adult.

The Fourth of July schedule is as follows:

  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Field events/races at Cameron Field for ages 3-12, including Flag Tag, Bucket Brigade, 3 Legged Race, Sack Races, relays and more.
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Model Boat Exhibit at the Duck Pond sponsored by the South Orange Seaport Society.
  • 12 to 4 p.m. - Slide and Bouncy House near the pool entrance, sponsored by the SO Parking Authority.
  • 12 to 4 p.m. - Photo Booth at the pool.
  • 12 to 3 p.m. - Sand Art at the pool.
  • Ping Pong Tournament at the pool.
  • Cornhole Contest at the pool.
