Fred Smith Franchises TAP into SOMA (South Orange and Maplewood); Anna Sandler Named Editor

TAPinto.net  is pleased to announce that it has franchised its South Orange and Maplewood site to South Orange resident Fred Smith.  Maplewood resident Anna Sandler has been named Editor.
 

As Publisher of TAPinto SOMA (South Orange/Maplewood), Fred Smith brings a lifetime of business experience and community commitment to the digital world.  Fred spent the majority of his business life in the home decorating industry, having been the owner of Fred Smith Adhesives after running Roman Adhesives for many years.
 
After selling his company and with the growth of his wife's well known Millburn Women's Clothing Store, DEBORAH GILBERT SMITH, he joined the company as operations manager.  While working with DEBORAH GILBERT SMITH, he became actively involved in the development of the DMDA, known as Downtown Millburn, and the Millburn-Short Hills Chamber of Commerce.  Fred served many years on the executive Committee of both organizations and is still active on the board of the Millburn Short Hills Chamber.  
 
 
In 1988 he moved to Maplewood where Deborah had grown up and raised her family.  Deborah and Fred currently live in South Orange with grandchildren attending schools in Millburn and Maplewood.

Fred is a graduate of University of Massachusetts-Amherst.  He holds an MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
 
Anna Sandler is a resident of Maplewood, where she lives with her husband and three children.  A graduate of Wesleyan University and the Simmons Graduate School of Management, Anna has been writing online since 1998 for a variety of publications including most recently The Huffington Post and New Jersey Family Magazine, where she was a contributing editor.



In addition to covering local news for TAPinto SOMA, Anna is a partner at Sandler & Wald Social Media, a consulting firm with a focus on helping small businesses navigate the online space, and a chronicler of modern motherhood and mayhem on her humor blog, RandomHandprints.com.

Anna is thrilled to be covering the local news in South Orange and Maplewood.  "I am looking forward to sharing the breaking stories that are important to residents as well as highlighting the many one-of-a-kind events, places and people that make living here so special."
