WEST ORANGE, NJ — Golda Och Academy recently announced that Daniel Cohen and Kimberly Jo Robins were named as National Merit Semifinalists, and Lindsay Biebelberg, Aviva Kamens, and Hannah Sturm of Maplewood were awarded a "Letter of Commendation" after more than 1.6-million high school juniors took the the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

In October, 50,000 students were identified as the highest scorers. Approximately 14,000 students, representing less than one percent of each state’s high school seniors, were recognized as National Merit Semifinalists, and the other 34,000 high performers were recognized as Commended Students.

“It is wonderful to see students who have worked so hard recognized by such an esteemed organization as the National Merit Scholarship Program,” said Upper School Principal Christine Stodolski. “Congratulations to these outstanding students.”

“We are incredibly proud of our National Merit Semifinalists and Commended students," said Head of School Adam Shapiro. “It is quite clear that their hard work and dedication to their studies has paid off, and we look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in their future endeavors.”
