SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The grand opening of Chez Dubois, a Caribbean cuisine restaurant and event venue, at 62 Taylor Place in South Orange was celebrated on Thurs., June 30, with a traditional ribbon cutting in front of the restaurant.
Representing South Orange Village was South Orange Village President Sheena Collum, and Trustees Walter Clarke and Steve Schnall, along with Village Administrator Barry Lewis and Assistant Village Administrator Adam Loehner.
Representing the South Orange Village Center Alliance were Executive Director Bob Zuckerman, and Melissa Hodge, Events and Operations Coordinator.
Collum welcomed Chez Dubois to town and said "it's terrific to add this upscale Caribbean restaurant to the eclectic mix of restaurants in South Orange, and to celebrate the worldly appetites of all."
Zuckerman conveyed the well wishes of Matt Glass, Chairman of the South Orange Village Center Alliance, who was unable to attend. Zuckerman also shared his welcome to Chez Dubois, and how pleased he is to have this fine dining restaurant now open in downtown South Orange, and wished them much success.
Following the ribbon cutting, owners Mario and Nadine Dubois and their staff invited all to a food tasting, presenting homemade puff pastries filled with beef, chicken and fish, Jerk Chicken, fried pork, and sauteed salmon, as well as assorted side dishes.
Chef Dubois is open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, and is closed on Mondays. The restaurant offers delivery service. More information is available on their Facebook page here.
