SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - You’ve seen him in groundbreaking roles on television’s Good Times and Mary Tyler Moore Show, the historic miniseries Roots and the hit movie Coming to America; and now you can see John Amos on stage in his one-man play Halley’s Comet.
East Orange High School graduate turned movie star, John Amos, will be in South Orange on Saturday October 7, at 6 p.m. at South Orange Middle School (70 N. Ridgewood Road) for a fundraiser on behalf of the Black Parents Workshop of South Orange and Maplewood.
Tickets for adults are $30 for the performance only and $40 for the performance and a post-show ‘Meet and Greet’ with Amos. There is a special $10 ticket for middle school students accompanied by an adult. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online through the Black Parents Workshop website.
The Black Parents Workshop is dedicated to the academic success of Black children in South Orange and Maplewood.
