MAPLEWOOD AND SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - It's the last weekend before Christmas, and it's filled with holiday events, shows, concerts and more in and around Maplewood and South Orange. 
 
Here's what's happening in the two towns:
 
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19
Dickens Village in Ricalton Square in Maplewood has events all day, full schedule here. It's the last chance to meet Santa and the last day the little houses will be open for the season.
 
As part of the Dickens Village festivities, Maplewood Community Music is performing a free concert at the Burgdorff Center for the arts. Details here.
 
 
South Orange's holiday store, Pop 'N Shop (65 South Orange Ave.), has added a bonus shopping day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (details here).
 
The Maplewood Artists Collective presents the Jolly Jingle Jam, a musical holiday celebration for all ages. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodland. Tickets are $10 per family, details here.
 
Cherish the Ladies "A Celtic Christmas" is at SOPAC at 8 p.m. Details and tickets here.
 
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 20
The Essex County Youth Orchestras perform their winter concert at SOPAC at 3 p.m. Details and tickets here.

School Walkout Efforts Reach West Orange High School
